Reliquary | Gold Fanam Diamond Charm

A charm crafted in hand-textured 18k yellow gold, set with an original historic gold fanam and brilliant-cut diamonds radiating around it. The coin is suspended at the center of an octagonal gold frame, creating a strong architectural composition around the historic object.

The coin is a Viraraya fanam from the Kingdom of Mysore, dating to the 17th century AD. Preserved in its original, unaltered form, it bears the figure of Kali — a symbol of transformation.

Each fanam is an original historic coin, individually sourced from auction houses and specialist dealers around the world. Variations in strike, surface, patina and wear are inherent to these centuries-old objects, ensuring that no two charms will ever be exactly alike.

The coin is held lightly within the setting, allowing the historic object to remain distinct from the contemporary gold structure that surrounds it.
